Peter Falk is a well known television personality, and is probably best known for the TV series Columbo. From toking up with Sean Penn's Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High to waging chainsaw vengeance against the cultists that murdered his wife in Mandy — and beyond — Cage has racked up more than 100 film credits over the last several decades, delivering performances that range from Oscar-winning ( Leaving Las Vegas ) to wildly over the top ( Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans ) and starring in blockbuster fare ( The Rock , National Treasure ) as well as acclaimed indies ( Raising Arizona , Joe ), and we wouldn't want him any other way.

Elderly arts patrons look on scandalized as Croft's minions begin tearing down Monets and Rembrandts and replacing them with funny coffee-shop art of Nicolas Cage. For those living in a cave, Nicolas Cage is an actor and producer whose movies have raked in a billion dollars.

And in many cases - such as the link between drownings and Nic Cage movies - mere fluke still seems the most plausible cause. The plot will feature the "real" Nicolas Cage, faced with a dearth of acting jobs and money, reluctantly accept a sketchy offer of $1 million to appear at his biggest fan's Nicolis Cage birthday celebration.

One of Cage's most recent movies, it turns out exactly as you expect it does (and with oh-so-much awful CGI). But unlike other revenge films, which dip or dive into camp, Cage's Red is rooted in a vulnerable humanity; there is no cathartic ecstasy to his murder of the people who took Mandy from him.

While the movie could be using Cage for a lesson on narcissism, featuring this performance probably didn't get that message across to everyone. My favorites are, "It's a Wonderful Life", Christmas Vacation, and Family Man with Nicolas Cage. The film was a surprise hit, even at a time when teenage films such as "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club" were all the rage.

Unfortunately, Cage would begin a trend of doing multiple bad performances for every good one. Reception for "Bangkok Dangerous" was riddled with negative reviews, with critics calling the film dull and lifeless. The caliber of the acting (including a solid, if sadly conventional performance from Cage) and serious subject matter makes it seem like this movie thought it was Oscar bait.
